Construction Management Services for Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald Community Center Roof, HVAC Replacement including Solar Panels Installation, and portion of Community Center Refurbishment and Upgrade

This project includes construction management of the installation of approximately 184 kW rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and all appurtenant systems; removal and replacement of several items including: four existing roof mounted HVAC units, 54,000 square feet of roofing, a chandelier, a changeable message Marquee sign, intercom system, existing flush valves with automatic flush valves in all restrooms, water heaters, water meters, a cooling tower, existing boiler, and chiller expansion tanks.

In addition, a variety of other items will be upgraded including audio/visual equipment for Hall ABC (LCD projectors, screens, DVD players, microphones & sound system components), the energy management system, and water meters. The parking lot lighting will be retrofitted to LED lighting, lighting occupancy sensors will be installed in meeting rooms and offices, and a security camera system with time elapsed recorders will be installed. The Community Center will remain open and operational throughout construction of the proposed improvements. The construction cost estimate is $4,870,000.00 and includes Federal and Carson Redevelopment Agency funds.
