South Laguna Streetscape and Parking Lot
2008-2010
This project was funded with a Federal TE Grant and helped to transform this once isolated County Island, now part of the City, into a destination for shopping, dining and walking. The project included the rehabilitation of the sidewalks and landscaped medians along State owned Highway 1, which involved extensive involvement with Caltrans District 12, the design and construction of new planters, street lighting, recycled water irrigation systems, potable water systems and fire hydrants, new bus shelters, new concrete sidewalks, new landscaped medians, new trash receptacles and art work. The project included a new landscaped parking lot with 15 spaces constructed out of pervious concrete. The project also included right of way engineering, traffic engineering, and permit coordination and construction management services.
Coordination required with other agencies and utility companies: Caltrans District 12, South Coast Water District, SDG&E, SCE, and Verizon.
